Michel JOUENNE



Michel Jouenne, born in 1933 in Boulogne-Billancourt, contemporary French impressionist painter and one of the best figurative painters in France. His artworks has been exhibited in numerous museums in France and abroad.

Michel Jouenne made his first personal exhibition at the age of 15, from the begining of his career, Michel Jouenne has obtained around fifty medals:

 

1949 - Youth Painting Prize at the Salon Ile-de-France (Versailles)

 

1960 - First Prize at the Salon de Versailles

 

1961 - Prize of the President of the Republic

 

1976 - Gold medal for French artists

 

1986 - Barbizon Prize

 

1987 - Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters

 

1991- Official Painter of the Navy

 

1990 - Knight of the Legion of  Honor

 

2006 - Great Gold Medal of Arts-Sciences-Lettres.

 

PARTNER OF FAIRS

 

Michel Jouenne was consultant of several official exhibitions, such as President and Honorary President of  Salon "Souvenir de Corot" , Member of the Board and General Commissioner of  Salon d'Automne. Member of the Committee of Salon "Arts en Yvelines" (Orangery of Palace of Versailles), Honorary President of the Association of Friends of the Salon d'Automne(Now the French Foundation ), and President of the Salon d'Angers, 1993.

As a prolific artist, he has over a thousand auction records. His works are collected by Modern Art Museum of Paris, Petit Palais Museum of Geneva, Ile-de-France Museum of Fontainebleau, Vârlden Museum of Sweden, Baux-de-Provence Museum, Nicolas Sursock Museum of Beirut, Governor of Seine-et-Oise, Governor of Yvelines (watercolor), Governor of the Ardèche, and Presidency of the Republic of France.
